The most expensive US estate ever listed in the nation is in Naples, Florida and is priced at $295 million. The luxury estate is located in the uber high-end community of Port Royal. The super high-end market still has buying power, especially in Naples, where the rich and super rich seek private estate living and are willing to pay the price.
The Gordon Pointe estate spans over 9 acres and boasts almost 400,00 square feet of land. It features 708 feet of beachfront access and 952 feet of bay frontage. The sprawling estate features unparalleled water views of the sparkling Gulf of Mexico, where life can be enjoyed from a living room view or a seat on the beach.
Rare Coastal Estate in Naples
The main residence encompasses 22,800 square feet, complemented by two guesthouses exceeding 6,000 square feet each. There’s plenty of room to roam under the rooftop for privacy to be enjoyed by guests for a get-away or a permanent residency.
The sellers are the descendants of the late financier Jack Donahue. Jack died in 2017. He left behind 13 children, 84 grandchildren and nearly 200 great-grandchildren. That’s 297 people. That makes the asking price right around $1 million per descendant. Donahue originally bought the estate for $1 million in 1985 before investing millions to upgrade the property to the most expensive US estate.
If the compound, which is being marketed as “Gordon Pointe,” gets anywhere above $238 million, it will be the most expensive home sold in US history. The current record for the most expensive estate to sell belongs to hedge fund founder Ken Griffin, who set the record when he paid $238 million for the top four floors of 220 Central Park South in Manhattan.
