Florida needs to try harder after being named the second most fun state in the U.S. by WalletHub. The state came in second only to California.
However, Florida still led the country in the number of restaurants, amusement parks, arcades, and music festivals per capita. The website compared all 50 states to 26 indicators of fun that would not cost much so it’s a great indicator to find deals on the cheap.
Fun activities include the cost of movies, national parks, recreational activities like theme parks and night life.
“Living in one of the most fun states can boost your mental, physical, and emotional health by giving you a wide range of activities to choose from, both indoor and outdoor,” said Chip Lup, Wallet Hub’s fun analyst. “These states help residents stay active and socialize, and they’re also ideal for travelers who want to make the most out of the limited amount of time that they have to explore.”
Florida has the fourth-most attractions per capita, and the seventh-best variety of arts, entertainment, and recreation establishments, the WalletHub survey showed indicating Florida needs to try harder for fun.
Florida also has the 12th best weather overall and has the most marinas per capita and the second-most miles of shoreline. It’s hard not to have fun going to the beach
According to WalletHub, Floridians spend nearly $2,300 per year on recreation expenses.
California was ranked number one for the most fun states in America, while West Virginia was ranked 50th.
There are many benefits to having fun, according to psychologists, and you just might live a better overall life if you have fun more often.
“But, it’s so important to recognize that embracing fun isn’t just a luxury; it’s necessary for our overall well-being! Making time and space for fun and joy is an essential part of creating a life you enjoy.”
“I don’t think I’ve ever sold a second home or vacation condominium in more than two decades of selling resort property to anyone who wasn’t buying a second home to do anything but to have fun,” said Realtor Mike Colpitts.
